All of us are going to die. It’s a fundamental, tragic, romantic part of what it is to be human. But the services that should be supporting us haven’t changed in decades.

From writing your will to planning a funeral, the way we deal with death is formal, complicated and expensive. Instead of feeling supported, people feel lost.

But it doesn’t need to be this way. We started Farewill to make the experience warmer, brighter and friendlier.

We’re the UK’s biggest will writer and one of the leading funeral companies in the country. Our generous customers have pledged over £1.03 billion to charities, through donations left in their wills.

We’re backed by top investors who are as excited by our mission as we are, and we’ve won awards for the work we’ve done. But there’s a lot more to do.

The role
We’re looking for an Account Executive to play a vital role in helping charities secure essential legacy income.

Our 300 charity partners work with us to deliver a free will service promoting legacy giving. For many of our partners, over half of their income comes from gifts in wills, securing long-term funding for their cause areas.

As part of our dynamic, fast-growing startup, you’ll work closely with our charity partners to enhance their engagement and drive growth. Reporting to a Senior Account Manager, you will be instrumental in providing strategic support and guidance, making a tangible impact on both our partners and their beneficiaries. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior professional eager to develop their career in a supportive, innovative environment.

In this role you will

  • Take responsibility for managing dozens of smaller charities, ensuring they can make the most of their partnership with Farewill
  • Organise regular meetings with charity partners to onboard them, offer tailored advice and identify opportunities for account growth
  • Utilise marketing knowledge to develop and refine our partners marketing strategy to deliver more effective legacy marketing campaigns
  • Effectively handle client queries with ease and professionalism via email and phone, ensuring every partner feels supported and valued
  • Own an individual target to drive growth across your accounts through securing renewals, identifying upsell opportunities and exploring cross selling opportunities
  • About you

  • Passionate about supporting charities, and eager to join a dynamic startup environment and make a meaningful impact
  • Experience in account management or working within the charity sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, focused on building and nurturing relationships
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and experience in designing and implementing strategic email, social & offline campaigns
  • Excellent attention to detail; ensuring all communication is accurate and thorough
  • A proactive, innovative mindset with entrepreneurial thinking
  • Committed to putting customers first, working with urgency and focus, and maintaining a positive, collaborative team environment
  • What we offer

  • A competitive salary of £30,000 - £33,600 + stock options
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays
  • Personal development budget of 3 days and £1,000 per year
  • Hybrid working; our team works a minimum of 2 days/week in our lovely East London (Haggerston) office
  • Regular team socials & company-wide events
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution to people's lives and deaths

If you’re excited about our mission but you’re worried you don’t tick every box in the job description, get in touch anyway. Ability and attitude are just as important as experience.

Let us know how we can support you

If you need any adjustments in our interview process to help set you up for success, just let us know.

    Our recruitment process

We like to keep things simple, so this is a broad outline of our process. If there are technical tasks or additional steps, we’ll let you know the first time we talk.

    1. Apply for the job through the link on this page.
    2. You’ll have an initial chat over Google Meet with a member of our recruiting team, so we can find out more about your experience and ambitions. You can also ask any questions you have about working at Farewill.
    3. If we think you’re a good match for the role, we’ll book you in for follow up interviews with the hiring team. These will be a chance to meet some of the people you’ll be working with, and demonstrate your core skills for the job.
    4. That’s it! If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer.
