All of us are going to die. It’s a fundamental, tragic part of what it is to be human. But the services that should be supporting us haven’t changed in decades.

From writing your will to planning a funeral or organising probate, the way we deal with death can be complicated and expensive. Instead of feeling supported, people feel lost.

But it doesn’t need to be this way. We started Farewill to make the experience warmer, brighter and friendlier.

We’re the UK’s biggest will writer and one of the leading funeral companies in the country. Our generous customers have pledged over £1.03 billion to charities, through gifts left in their wills.

We’ve also joined the Dignity Group - one of the major providers of funeral services in the UK. Together, we’re on a mission to change the way the world deals with death. It’s no small task - and we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help us do it.

The Role

Help shape the future of end-of-life services in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to reimagine outdated, complex systems and turn them into experiences that are simpler, more compassionate, and truly effective.

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll work across our direct-to-consumer products and internal tools, partnering closely with product managers and cross-functional leads. You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping solutions from concept to execution, whether that’s sketching ideas on a whiteboard or using digital tools to design detailed user journeys.

We're looking for a designer who brings strong craft, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide teams through the design process. You’ll be a key player in helping drive real transformation across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design simple, inclusive and trustworthy products that put customer needs first.
  • Influence product direction by balancing user insight with business goals.
  • Advocate for users through evidence-based design, from discovery to delivery.
  • Work with the team to develop our approach to product design, from the big picture down to the smallest UI details.
  • Familiarity with collaborative design tools such as Figma and Miro is essential to support cross-functional thinking and remote collaboration.
  • Contribute to both customer-facing experiences and the internal tools that power them.
  • Report to our Creative Director and collaborate closely with our Lead Brand Designer, Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders.

In the interview we’re looking for evidence of:

  • Strong user-centred design skills, delivering intuitive, effective experiences across platforms and devices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear documentation and facilitation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for the craft of design.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on human-centred outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach, working seamlessly with content, research, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience identifying, defining, and applying scalable design patterns.

In return we offer:

  • Annual salary of £75,000
  • 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
  • 10% Annual Company Bonus
  • BUPA Private Healthcare (Self)
  • X2 Life Assurance
  • Pension Scheme
  • Hybrid flexible working (3 days in office)
  • Access to our internal colleague development schemes.

We’re building a diverse, inclusive team

To change the way the world deals with death we need a team that celebrates diversity in all its forms. We’re building a workplace where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully.

If you’re excited about our mission but you’re worried you don’t tick every box in the job description, get in touch anyway. Ability and attitude are just as important as experience.

Let us know how we can support you

If you need any adjustments in our interview process to help set you up for success, just let us know.
