All of us are going to die. It’s a fundamental, tragic, romantic part of what it is to be human. But the services that should be supporting us haven’t changed in decades.

From writing your will to planning a funeral, the way we deal with death is formal, complicated and expensive. Instead of feeling supported, people feel lost.

But it doesn’t need to be this way. We started Farewill to make the experience warmer, brighter and friendlier.

We’re the UK’s biggest will writer and one of the leading funeral companies in the country. Our generous customers have pledged over £970 million to charities, through donations left in their wills.

We’re backed by top investors who are as excited by our mission as we are, and we’ve won awards for the work we’ve done. But there’s a lot more to do.

Join Farewill's Finance Team
Ready to kick-start your career & dive into the world of finance? We're on the lookout for a Finance Assistant to join our tight-knit, high performing team. You’ll report directly to our Finance Manager Holly, work closely with our VP Finance Amy, and span the whole business - learning about each area in turn.

What you'll do
As our Finance Assistant, you'll have the chance to learn the ins and outs of finance from the ground up. From paying the bills to processing invoices and beyond, you'll be at the heart of our core finance processes. You'll have the opportunity to explore ways to streamline and automate our processes, making them even more efficient.

Among other things you’ll own:
- Accounts Payable
- Credit Control
- Bank Reconciliation
- Month End
- Expense Tracking
- Filings and Returns
…and lots more!

If you’ve heard of these things, fantastic! If not, also great! We’re here to support to right candidate (but do have a quick google before we meet).

What's in it for you
This is a rare opportunity to get deep expertise in your discipline, whilst being exposed to every part of a fast-growing tech company. You'll be part of a lean finance team with plenty of room for growth and development.

What we're looking for
Experience isn't necessary – what matters most is your ambition, willingness to learn, ability to work hard, and your attention to detail.

A few logistics to note. After six months on the job, we'll sponsor you to start your accounting qualifications, all while supporting you in your day-to-day responsibilities. Training will be delivered through an apprenticeship programme. As such, we're unable to consider candidates who hold a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, nor can we provide visa sponsorship for this role.

If this still sounds like you, get in touch - we’d love to hear from you!

    1. Apply for the job through the link on this page.
    2. You’ll have an initial chat over Google Meet with a member of our recruiting team, so we can find out more about your experience and ambitions. You can also ask any questions you have about working at Farewill.
    3. If we think you’re a good match for the role, we’ll book you in for follow up interviews with the hiring team. These will be a chance to meet some of the people you’ll be working with, and demonstrate your core skills for the job.
    4. That’s it! If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer.
